Life Pact exists to solve a specific, unglamorous problem: nature-based solutions work, but they rarely travel. A raingarden that transforms one neighbourhood doesn’t automatically teach the next city anything, unless someone does the work of writing down what made it work.

The problem

Cities are full of good pilots and short on replication. Life Pact, an EU LIFE-funded initiative, set out to identify, codify, and package the conditions that let a nature-based solution spread from the place it was invented to a place it wasn’t — with Leuven as originator and Madrid and Krakow as replication sites.

What I built

As developer and designer, I built the site carrying this work: a replication toolkit including a step-by-step guide for municipal teams, City Replication Plans, a practices guide organizing NbS work into six categories, and deep-dive case studies — structured so a planning team in an unfamiliar city can find the specific lesson it needs rather than read a full report.

Partners

Built in collaboration with the City of Leuven and Democratic Society, alongside Alessandra Puricelli and Alicia Carvajal Rowan.
