Planetary Civics Inquiry
Web space holding the mission, resources, and documentation for a global inquiry into planetary-scale civic systems.
Planetary Civics Inquiry is an alliance — RMIT University, the RISD Center for Complexity, Politics for Tomorrow, and Dark Matter Labs — built around a single reframing question: what if governance wasn’t organized around borders, but around the shared, entangled systems a planet actually runs on?
The problem
Most civic and legal frameworks are scaled to nations and cities. The crises that matter most — climate, biodiversity, migration — are scaled to the planet. The Inquiry calls these “hyperobjects”: too large and too distributed for existing governance to hold, and in need of new civic frameworks built for that scale.
What I built
As developer and designer, I helped build the web space carrying the Inquiry’s mission, position papers, and documentation — a shared surface for an alliance of researchers, educators, and policymakers working across institutions rather than inside one.
